Wasn’t it great to read of the return to Victor Harbor of the ‘Rambler’ originally built in 1875 and owned by the Rumbelow family. As Mayor          Mary-Lou Corcoran said “It’s about returning heritage to the region.” They are looking for volunteers to help restore the boat so if you are interested contact Kay Ewens on 0407 606 516.

As reported last month the Library and History Room held a variety of interesting events for History Week on Wednesday 27th May. In the morning we had some of the classes from Goolwa Primary School. Gayle Morton’s Class 3-4  in the Community Room with Bill Cox and Mr Porter’s Class 6-7 in the History Room with Frodo Krochmal. We were amazed at the interest shown by both groups.

In the afternoon we had over 90 visitors for our varied program, starting with Trish Steele launching her book ‘History of the Library 1988-2000’ followed by an entertaining Kristin Weidenbach talking about her books “Mailman of the Outback” and “Rock Star”.
